Help Shape a Faster Way to Search the STI Management Guidelines

Finding specific guidance during a consultation can be challenging, especially when time is limited. Based on feedback from clinicians, ASHM is exploring ways to make this process faster and more efficient.

We’ve developed a prototype tool that allows users to ask questions in plain language and receive concise, referenced answers drawn directly from the guideline content.

We’re now seeking input from practising clinicians to help evaluate and refine this tool. Your expertise is essential to ensure any future system is accurate, practical, and trustworthy in real clinical settings.

How You Can Contribute

We’re inviting GPs, nurses, sexual health physicians, and other specialists who use the STI Management Guidelines to take part.

You can help in one of two ways:

  1. Join a Brief Feedback Session (30–45 minutes, online)
Use the prototype to search for clinical information in a one-on-one session. Share your thoughts on whether it's practical, how it fits into your workflow, and whether you'd trust the answers it provides.
  2. Conduct a Clinical Review (15–20 minutes, by email)
Review a small set of questions and answers generated by the tool, alongside the relevant guideline excerpts. Use a short assessment form to tell us whether the responses are accurate, complete, and clinically appropriate.

Your Contribution

Your feedback will directly shape the development of tools designed to better support clinical decision-making.
As a thank you for your time and expertise, participants will go in the draw to win a $100 Visa gift card.

Express your interest
